Calcium carbonate is a natural phosphate binder. Since excessively high levels of phosphate in the blood further damage the kidneys, a low-phosphate diet is an important part of therapy for chronic kidney failure. Calcium carbonate helps reduce the amount of phosphate absorbed from feed. Chitosan is a so-called biopolymer that is obtained from shellfish. It can bind a wide variety of substances, such as toxins. These are then excreted with the faeces.

It is recommended to mix PHA KidneyActiv PLUS with the feed. Cats and dogs receive 1 g (= 1 measuring spoon) per 5 kg body weight twice a day. Recommended feeding time: The application can initially be up to 6 months. It is recommended that you seek the advice of a veterinarian prior to renewal. Please make sure that your animal always has enough fresh water available.

One of the most common causes of death in cats is chronic kidney failure.

Every third cat over the age of 10 is affected. The first signs of the disease only appear when a large part of the kidney is already damaged, as one kidney can partly take over the work of the other.

The first signs of chronic kidney failure are: fatigue, lack of appetite, increased drinking and dull, shaggy fur.

Chronic kidney failure is unfortunately not curable, but the progression of the disease can be delayed by administering a phosphate binder, so that the life expectancy and quality of your cat can be significantly improved.

PHA Kidney Activ PLUS binds food phosphates and thus reduces the phosphate level in the blood. Poisons and degradation products are bound and excreted with the faeces. PHA Kidney Activ PLUS enables the already picky cat to stick to its usual food.

Adequate feed intake, which is vital at this stage, can thus be guaranteed.

Feeding advice
It is recommended to give PHA Kidney Activ PLUS mixed with the feed.
