Hyaluronic acid is an endogenous substance that, as a component of tear fluid, ensures that moisture is stored and nutrients can be transported. With their special physical and chemical properties, biotechnologically produced hyaluronic acid solutions are similar to natural tear fluid. They are therefore very popular in ophthalmology to treat dry eyes. The product VISMED ^®MULTI contains 0.18% hyaluronic acid. Clinical studies prove the effectiveness of VISMED ^® MULTI and a significant reduction in symptoms.*

Unscrew the cap, tilt your head back and hold the dropper opening over the eye to be treated. With the index finger of one hand, pull the lower eyelid down. By gently squeezing the bottle, a drop of the VISMED ^® MULTI solution is released. Unless otherwise recommended, 1-2 drops of VISMED ^{® as needed}Drop MULTI into the conjunctival sac. Do not bring the dropper tip into contact with your eye or touch it with your fingers. By blinking, the solution is distributed and forms a transparent and durable layer of liquid on the surface of the eye. 

HORMONAL CHANGES Pregnant women and women going through the menopause are subject to hormonal fluctuations and changes. These can promote dry eyes and cause unpleasant symptoms. 

DISEASES Risk factors for dry eyes such as diabetes mellitus, dermatological and rheumatic diseases, as well as irradiation of the head influence the production of the tear film. Taking certain medications can also have a negative effect on tear fluid.

CLIMATIC FACTORS

Can dry eyes be prevented?

For example, by always making sure that you drink enough water or unsweetened tea, you can contribute to the well-being of your eyes. A balanced diet with lots of fruit and vegetables also provides important nutrients for your eyes.
