Iron is a vital trace element that is needed for many functions in the body. It contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin, the red blood pigment, and supports normal oxygen transport in the blood. In
addition, iron plays a role in normal energy metabolism and cell division.
Iron also contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system .

Doppelherz Eisen Vital contains iron in the form of iron(II) gluconate and a combination of 4 B vitamins as well as vitamin C and zinc. Vitamin C increases iron absorption and contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and to protecting cells from oxidative stress.

A sufficient supply of iron should be ensured particularly during the developmental years, during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, in old age and in the case of an unbalanced or vegetarian diet.
