The blue-green AFA algae from Klamath Lake are one of the most powerful foods on our planet. AFA.Plus consists of pure AFA algae, to which an AFA algae extract made from the amino acid PEA (phenylethylamine) and blue color pigments phycocyanin have been added, the extract. This potentiation increases the original effect of the pure AFA algae. PEA is known as a messenger substance that promotes the release of dopamine in the brain. A "good mood bringer". The deep blue color pigments strengthen the body's immune system and prevent inflammation.  The AFA algae is easy to digest. It does not have a solid cell wall like chlorella algae, but a liquid cell wall that is folded, similar to our brain. This creates a very large surface for the absorption of nutrients. It also has no cell nucleus.

The DNA floats in the plasma and is distributed throughout the entire cell (prokaryotic). This enables the AFA algae to adapt incredibly quickly to changing environmental conditions. The valuable nutrients and color pigments, especially the chlorophyll, are not surrounded by a cell membrane that must first be opened by the digestive juices and are therefore immediately and highly available to the body. The structure of the AFA algae is similar to that of a human brain cell with its branches. Depending on the drying method, this structure is retained, e.g. in air drying, or is destroyed, as in freeze drying. Dr. WT Barry, Professor of Biology, USA, describes the freeze drying process as follows: "During freeze drying, the water content of the algae is removed so quickly, completely and effectively that the algae cells are destroyed beyond recognition. The enzymes and amino acids are denatured and thus biologically ineffective." He concludes: freeze drying destroys the high nutritional value of the algae. Recommendation: Use air-dried algae products. Our AFA algae are gently air-dried using a special process in just 2-3 minutes at 40°C. This ensures that all vital substances are preserved to the maximum possible extent.

The AFA algae only grow in Klamath Lake in Oregon/USA. This lake is located in a nature reserve in a region of volcanic origin. The volcanic eruptions over the course of millions of years have left a meter-thick layer of ash and dust at the bottom of the lake, which is incredibly rich in minerals and trace elements. This also explains the high mineral content in the algae. During the day, the algae rise to the top towards the light and sink back into deeper layers of water at night. They react extremely sensitively to climatic conditions. When there is a lot of wind or low temperatures, they remain in the lower layers of water. They are harvested when they bloom.

This time is limited to a few months a year. Special harvesting boats use trunks to suck up the algae carpet, or bring it into the boat using conveyor belts. Every attempt to breed or cultivate AFA algae has failed. The wild algae only thrive in its natural habitat. We certainly have this fact to thank for its strengthening properties, which users and consumers all over the world report. The algae retain their original form and are still the same today as they were 3.5 billion years ago. The excellent properties and ingredients of algae were and are known in many cultures. They are referred to as "power food".
