The horse, one of the most noble and beautiful animals in existence, has been taken as the source of inspiration by Lladro artists. In this case, we find a pony for the first time in a Lladro piece. The sculpture shows a little girl riding a pony which, rather than galloping, is simply walking or perhaps at rest, a circumstance that the girl's gesture, petting the animal's mane, seems to imply. The tenderness of this loving caress adds warmth to the scene. The palette of this piece is dominated by light tones, particularly white, and touches of pastel tones. Only the girl's hair, gathered in two ponytails, and the horse's hoofs contrast with the soft hues. The girl's clothing and her bare feet denote spontaneity and suggest a natural, laid back atmosphere.
