Lactofem ^® Lactic Acid Treatment Vaginal Gel is available for the supportive treatment and prevention of bacterial vaginosis - without hormones, without coloring or fragrances. The soft gel with lactic acid and extra glycogen can restore the natural pH value in the vagina and in this way relieves typical symptoms such as excessive discharge and odour. Lactofem ^® Lactic Acid Treatment Vaginal Gel is very well tolerated and also suitable during pregnancy.

Bacterial vaginosis - when the vaginal environment is disturbed
Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause of vaginal infections. A disturbance of the physiological vaginal environment plays a decisive role. There is normally an acidic pH value in the vagina – this is ensured by the lactic acid-producing bacteria. This acidic vaginal environment protects against bacterial infections. However, various factors, such as hormone fluctuations during menopause or during pregnancy, certain medications such as antibiotics or contraceptives (e.g. the IUD) can influence the pH value in the vagina - bacterial vaginosis can be the result.

One thing is certain: Such a vaginal infection with typical symptoms such as excessive discharge and odor is more than unpleasant and should be treated specifically.

* Lactobacilli of the natural vaginal flora ensure an acidic pH value by metabolizing glycogen and thus protect against colonization with pathogenic germs.

Application  treatment for bacterial vaginosis
Adult women use Lactofem ^® Lactic Acid Cure Vaginal Gel as follows:
For treatment:
Use one 5ml tube per day before bedtime for 7 days

For prevention:
After menstruation, use one 5ml tube per day before bedtime, 2-3 days long.
