For the local treatment of oral thrush and for the rehabilitation of the intestines in the case of yeast infestation. Particularly suitable for newborns, small children and patients with swallowing difficulties.

Warnings:
Contains parabens E 216/ E 218, sucrose, peppermint oil, benzyl alcohol, cinnamon (cinnamaldehyde) and alcohol (ethanol).

Favorable factors for the development of oral thrush are, for example, dentures, chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, HIV or therapy with broad-spectrum antibiotics or immunosuppressive drugs. Oral thrush is also a common local side effect when using inhaled glucocorticoids for respiratory diseases.11 Affected patients should have a snack or rinse their mouth briefly after using the sprays as prophylaxis.

Symptoms are a white coating on a very reddened oral mucosa with discomfort and occasional pain. Treatment for oral thrush should not be delayed, otherwise the fungus can invade the lungs and intestines.

In self-medication, Nystatin acis ® Mundgel or Nystatin acis® Suspension can be used.

Nystatin acis ® Suspension is for the local treatment of oral thrush and reduction of the yeast reservoir in the intestine (“intestinal rehabilitation”) in the case of yeast infestation.

Oral thrush:
After meals, drop the Nystatin acis ® suspension into the mouth using the pipette provided and distribute it in the mouth for at least 1 minute so that the entire oral cavity is well wetted .

Intestinal cleansing:
After application in the mouth, Nystatin acis ®Suspension swallowed and then used for intestinal rehabilitation. If there is no oral thrush, the suspension can be swallowed straight away or, in the case of the seriously ill with swallowing difficulties, administered via a stomach tube. In these cases, the suspension can also be given before meals. For oral thrush, treatment should be continued for 2-3 days after the visible symptoms have disappeared. In the case of yeast infections of the gastrointestinal tract, the treatment should generally be carried out for 2 weeks.

A notice:
In seriously ill patients, treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotics, corticosteroids or cytostatics increases the risk of a yeast infection in the gastrointestinal tract. In these patients, concomitant treatment at the same dose is indicated to reduce the growth of intestinal yeasts.
