How does the Dobendan® Direkt throat spray work?

Dobendan® Direkt Flurbiprofen Spray is a medicinal product for the symptomatic relief of sore throats. It contains a low dose (8.75 mg) of flurbiprofen. This non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) inhibits a synthesis step required for the production of the messenger substance prostaglandin. The throat spray works directly against the inflammation that underlies the sore throat.

Can I also use Dobendan® Direct Spray if I am taking an antibiotic?
Yes, it is possible to take Dobendan® Direct Spray together with an antibiotic that is typically prescribed for throat infections. Antibiotics, however, do not provide adequate relief from a sore throat, especially in the first two days when the symptoms are most severe. The additional application of Dobendan® Direct Spray can therefore help to alleviate the symptoms.

Do you have to keep strict bed rest if you have a sore throat?
Strict bed rest is not required for a sore throat. On the contrary: lying in bed all day can even delay regeneration. Get up in between and take a hot shower, for example. The steam can relieve the burning sensation in the throat. Moderate activities, such as light yoga or stretching exercises, may even help you recover from a sore throat.
