SOLPADEINE 12 capsules

SOLPADEINE contains three active ingredients: paracetamol - analgesic (soothes pain) and antipyretic (lowers the temperature), codeine phosphate - analgesic and caffeine, which enhances the analgesic effect.

SOLPADEINE is recommended for the rapid relief of mild to moderate pain (rheumatic pain, headache, migraine, neuralgia, toothache, sore throat, sinus pain and dental interventions, such as tooth extraction, menstrual and muscle pain), for fever. and other symptoms of colds and flu.

Remember: Contains paracetamol.

Do not take other medicines containing paracetamol.

Do not take SOLPADEINE if you are allergic to paracetamol, codeine and caffeine or any of the other ingredients listed below.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking SOLPADEINE if:

• you have kidney or liver disease;
• you suffer from hypertrophy (enlargement) of the prostate;
• you have severe inflammation or blockage of the bowel;
• you are pregnant or breastfeeding;
• you have diseases of the respiratory system with shortness of breath;
• you are taking medicines prescribed for depression or other medicines that affect the central nervous system, e.g. sedatives and hypnotics;
• you are taking metoclopramide, domperidone (used to treat nausea and vomiting) or cholesterol, used to lower cholesterol;
• you are taking anticoagulants - medicines used to thin the blood.

This medicine contains caffeine. Avoid large amounts of tea, coffee or caffeinated beverages while taking SOLPADEINE.

Increased caffeine intake can make you irritable and tense, have trouble sleeping, or have an unpleasant feeling of tightness and heaviness in your chest.

Pregnancy and lactation

The combination of paracetamol / codeine / caffeine is not recommended during pregnancy.

The available data do not indicate that paracetamol is contraindicated during breast-feeding.

Caffeine is excreted in breast milk and may have a stimulating effect on the infant, but no toxic concentrations have been observed.

Breast-feeding women should monitor their baby during treatment for possible drowsiness, lethargy, difficulty sucking or breathing, and decreased tone. If such symptoms occur, seek medical attention immediately.

Do not use SOLPADEINE or any other codeine-containing product during breast-feeding unless recommended by a doctor. Using such products may harm your baby.

Effects on ability to drive and use machines

SOLPADEINE can cause dizziness. If you feel dizzy, do not drive or use machines.

SOLPADEINE Dosage:

For oral use.

Adults, including those over 60 years of age, and children 12 years of age and older:

One to two capsules, up to four times a day as needed.

Do not take the dose at intervals of less than 4 hours.

Adults: Do not take more than 8 capsules in 24 hours.

Children 12 years of age and older: Do not take more than 6 capsules in 24 hours.

Children under 12 years of age: Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Do not take more than 10 days without consulting a doctor,

If symptoms persist for more than 3 days, consult your doctor.

Possible side effects

With paracetamol, side effects are rare. Allergic reactions may occur, e.g. each rash. Stop taking the medicine and talk to your doctor if:

• you experience an allergic reaction such as itching, rash, breathing problems, swelling of the lips, tongue, throat or face;
• mouth ulcers appear;
• you have had trouble breathing with acetylsalicylic acid or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
• you have unexpected bleeding or a tendency to bruise.

Codeine can cause constipation, nausea, dizziness, or drowsiness, but these side effects are very rare at the recommended doses. The most common side effects of caffeine are: nausea due to gastrointestinal irritation, insomnia and anxiety as a result of central nervous system stimulation. Talk to your doctor if you notice any unexpected reactions.

What does SOLPADEINE contain?

Each capsule contains:

paracetamol 500 mg;

codeine phosphate 8 mg;

caffeine 30 mg.

The other ingredients are cornstarch and magnesium stearate. The capsule also contains titanium dioxide (E171), erythrosine (E127), patent blue (E131), quinoline yellow (E104) and gelatin. The printing ink contains shellac, propylene glycol and black iron oxide (E172).
