What is 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP)

5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is a substance that is formed in the human body from the essential amino acid tryptophan, which enters the body through food.

In the brain, 5-hydroxytryptophan, in turn, is converted to serotonin, a substance that transmits nerve impulses between brain cells.

Serotonin is also known as the "happiness hormone".

The additional intake of 5-hydroxytryptophan in the form of tablets increases the levels of serotonin in the brain and thus has a beneficial effect on conditions associated with low levels of serotonin, without causing side effects, unlike other drugs designed for these conditions.

Purpose:

Neolexan is intended for people suffering from conditions associated with low serotonin levels, as well as for people who follow a diet and / or give up harmful habits such as smoking, alcohol and others.

Conditions caused by low serotonin levels are:

1.1. Depression

Depression is a condition that requires specialized medical care and is different from the familiar "lack of mood" and "feeling depressed." Depression is characterized by a lack of interest in daily activities, lack of energy and ability to concentrate, feelings of helplessness, hopelessness and sadness, uselessness and inadequacy, poor sleep, decreased sexual activity, significant weight gain or loss, fatigue, headaches, etc. .

Depression is not a weakness of character and is not the fault of the patient. It can be treated. Depression is caused by a combination of factor 3 - genetic predisposition, environment and imbalance of chemicals in the brain. Anxiety and anxiety states are also due to low levels of serotonin, so by increasing its levels, these conditions improve significantly, until their complete disappearance.

1.4. Migraine and headache

Dosage:

The starting dose of neolexan is usually 1 tablet 3 times a day.

Usually the effect of the drug does not occur immediately, so the dose adjustment should be undertaken in case of insufficient effect after two weeks. Then the dose can be increased up to 3 times a day for 2 tablets.

In case of insomnia, it is recommended to take 1 to 6 tablets once 30-45 minutes before bedtime. As some patients may experience mild nausea when taking neolexan for the first time, it is recommended to start with 1 tablet at bedtime and increase the dose gradually as needed.

If neolexan is taken during a diet to lose weight, it is recommended to take 1 tablet 20 minutes before meals.
