For the treatment of dogs with a body weight of 10 kg to 20 kg (M) against flea, tick and hairling infestation. Killing of fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.). The insecticidal effectiveness against adult fleas is maintained for 8 weeks. Killing of ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus). Recommendation for use:
Frontline ^® should be used regularly, because complete protection is only provided if there is sufficient active ingredient continuously. The effectiveness against adult fleas lasts for 8 weeks, against ticks for up to 4 weeks.

Spot on principle - easy to apply in 3 steps:
1. Take the pipette out of the blister and bend the pipette tip at the intended point.
2. Part the fur of the animal in the neck region in front of the shoulder blades until the skin is visible.
3. Place the pipette tip directly on the skin and completely empty the contents.

How does Frontline ^{® work} ?:
After application, the active ingredient spreads over the upper layers of the animal's skin within 1-2 days. The active ingredient is stored in the sebum glands and continuously released with the sebum into the dog's fur and skin. For optimal distribution, the animals should not be bathed for 48 hours before and after treatment.

Parasites absorb the active ingredient via the shell when it comes into contact with fur and skin and are thus killed.

Frontline ^® Spot On can be used on dogs weighing 2kg or more, regardless of the age of the animal, including pregnant or lactating bitches. Body contact with the treated animal is harmless after the application site has dried.

Questions & Answers:
Why do I still see ticks after the treatment?
Frontline ^® kills over 90% of ticks within 48 hours. Due to the principle of action, however, it is possible that temporarily living ticks that have newly infested the animal are visible on the animal. However, they are killed as soon as sufficient active ingredient has penetrated the shell and can then be easily removed.

Why do I still see fleas after treatment?
Frontline ^®kills over 95% of fleas within 24 hours. As soon as fleas are discovered on the animal, the eggs, larvae and pupae have usually already spread in the area. Because the adult fleas on the animal only make up about 5% of the flea infestation. From the flea brood new fleas can develop again and again, so the entire flea cycle has to be broken to get rid of the plague. This is only the case when there are no more offspring, which can take several months under certain circumstances. The brood of fleas can infest the entire home environment. As a supplementary measure, it is therefore advisable to clean the area mechanically by vacuuming and washing the infected textiles daily and to kill the brood of fleas with suitable insecticides (e.g. from Frontline PetCare).

Do I brush Frontline ^® out of the fur when I comb the animal?
Routine grooming is not expected to affect the effectiveness of Frontline ^® .

What happens if my dog licks the Frontline ^® solution?
By applying the solution to the skin between the shoulder blades, the risk is low, as this point is difficult to reach for the animal. Should it happen, there may be temporarily increased salivation, which is mainly caused by an unpleasant taste of the carrier substances.

What should I do if I get my ^hands on the Frontline ^® solution?
Wash your hands with soap, being careful not to rub the solution into the mucous membranes. Then report to your GP and the manufacturer of Frontline ^® and report the accidental exposure. You can find the contact details for Boehringer Ingelheim at www.vetmedica.de.

How long do I have to wait after the treatment before I can stroke my animal again?
As with any medicinal product that is applied to the skin, it is recommended as a precaution that children or adults do not stroke the treated animal until the application site has dried. It is best to treat the animals in the early evening hours so that the area can dry off overnight. Contact is harmless after drying.

Does Frontline ^® also ^help against mites?
Frontline ^® is approved for killing fleas, ticks and lice. It may only be used to combat other parasites on the advice of the treating veterinarian and under veterinary supervision. Since most of the mites that can attack our four-legged friends are not visible to the naked eye, a veterinary examination is also required to find out which mite species it is.

What are hair pieces?
Hair lice are wingless insects that can infest our pets. Unlike lice, they do not suck blood, but instead feed on flakes of skin or wound secretions. Frontline ^® reliably kills dog fur.

How do I protect my puppies from fleas and ticks?
Puppies can also be infected by parasites. Fleas in particular can bother the little ones and, in the case of massive infestation, even cause anemia. Frontline ^® Spray can be used in puppies from the first day of life. It reliably kills fleas and can be precisely adapted to the weight of the puppy.
