The Lladro Ladies from Aranjuez vase is particularly striking for the complex treatment of depth. Standing over 24.5 tall, this vase is surrounded by five ladies standing out in relief in the foreground, creating five different scenes. In the background one can notice the lush vegetation of a garden in bloom, and further back, we make out the arches of the arbor providing the ladies with shelter. A true virtuoso display of technique due to the large number of fragments required for the composition.

Absolutely instrumental in achieving this sense of depth are the decorative techniques practiced by the artists from Lladro Figurine's High Porcelain workshop. In lieu of the customary use of dissolved colors, the details of the skirts, flowers and embroideries are decorated with painting pastes.
