indication

• The medicine belongs to a group of medicines that relieve and prevent muscle spasms. It contains an antispasmodic agent that works by inhibiting contractions in the urinary tract, thereby reducing urinary symptoms and associated pain.
• It is used for the symptomatic treatment of urinary tract symptoms:
  • Difficulty urinating (delayed urination), feeling a sudden need to urinate (urge), needing to urinate much more frequently (increased frequency), including at night (nocturia), bladder pain above the pubic bone (suprapubic) and involuntary leakage of urine (incontinence).

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly as described or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is one 200 mg film-coated tablet taken three to four times a day.

• If you take more than you should:
  • If you accidentally take too many film-coated tablets, contact your doctor or a hospital straight away.

• If you forget to take the medicine:
  • If you miss a dose, don't worry and just take the next dose at the usual time.
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

• If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

• Do not break the tablet but swallow it whole, preferably with a glass of water.
• The film-coated tablets should be taken after a meal to avoid nausea.

Contraindications

• The drug must not be taken
  • if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to flavoxate hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients
  • if you have a gastrointestinal disease that affects the normal passage of food (obstruction).
  • if you suffer from gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • if you suffer from a muscle-related swallowing disorder (achalasia).
  • if you cannot empty your bladder completely (urinary retention).
  • if you are being treated for an eye disease called glaucoma (green star).
  • if you suffer from a disease that causes general weakness and fatigue of the muscles (myasthenia gravis).

pregnancy and breast feeding period

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
• Because the safety of this drug has not been established during pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is not recommended to take the drug during this period.
