The Cordyceps is a so-called hose fungus from the group of core lobes. The natural occurrences of Cordyceps are in the Tibetan highlands. The Tibetan yak herders discovered very early on that the consumption of the precious mushroom not only gives their animals special fertility, but also more resilience. Since then, Cordyceps has been in great demand as a tonic for life energy in Asia. And athletes also report of its strengthening influence.

Today, the demand for the wild specimens is so great that its price is practically as high as gold. Cordyceps is called "caterpillar mushroom" in German because it grows on a certain type of caterpillar. According to German and European food regulations and hygiene standards, however, it is not possible to offer the fungus that grows out of caterpillars as a food or dietary supplement. We offer our customers the Cordyceps mycelium grown on a millet substrate. The advantages of cultivation are obvious: On the one hand, this mushroom is affordable for everyone in our country. We are also making a contribution to the protection of nature in Tibet by not providing any support for an extensive collection of these mushrooms.

In the last few decades the enormous demand for this mushroom in Tibet has led to a real "Cordyceps intoxication". This has inevitably led to deplorable overexploitation of nature, which has a negative impact on flora, fauna and, in the long term, people too. We have therefore opted for sustainable and responsible management and only use the cultivated mycelium. The fact that we grow the same fungus species as in the wild and only use a different nutrient base also ensures that all of the valuable ingredients that are useful and necessary for humans are preserved.

The processing into mushroom powder capsules takes place entirely and exclusively in our factory in Limeshain, Germany. The mycelium is gently ground into powder with a water-cooled mill and filled into HPMC capsules. Millet may be included.
