This impression of energy conveyed by the seahorse contrasts with the calmness of Arionss face and gesture, absorbed in the music he is playing on his cithara. This juxtaposition of peace and energy is further heightened by the contrast between the whiteness of Lladro Arion on a Sea Horse's skin and the chromatic wealth of the armor. In fact, this profusion of decorative details is a signature of the very best Lladro; High Porcelain pieces.

With regards to the palette of colors used by the artists, apart from plenty of marine tones, particularly noteworthy is the coloring of the seahorsess armor, the golden effects imbuing Arionss figure with a sense of nobility and the wealth of nuances presented by the glazes when crystallized in the kiln.
