  • Duphalac syrup, a drug used to treat constipation, which stimulates the functioning of the colon and bowel movements. Indicated for the treatment and surgery of the colon or rectum to soften the stool consistency.

 

DUPHALAC syrup constipation relief Composition:

 


Active substance: 15 ml of Duphalac contains the active ingredient: 10 g lactulose and <1.65 g galactose <0.9 g of lactose, and trace quantities of other sugars.

 

DUPHALAC syrup constipation relief Action:

 


Duphalac, the laxative drug, osmotic used to treat chronic constipation and recurrent hepatic encephalopathy, and - the prevention and treatment of hepatic coma. Operation of the drug is also affected by dilution of stool consistency, and therefore is not recommended for use in patients after surgery and surgery of the colon or rectum to facilitate defecation. In the large intestine, lactulose is degraded by intestinal bacteria into low-molecular organic acids, such as lactic acid and acetic acid. The drug should be used as prescribed. The drug is taken orally.

In chronic constipation initial dose: adults 30 ml per day; children 7-14 years of age 5 ml per day, children 2-6 years of age 10 ml per day, infants 5 ml per day. The maintenance dose should be determined so that the patient indulged 2-3 loose stools a day, stool pH should be 5.0-5.5. The preparation may be administered alone or mixed with food.

Contraindications:
