What causes a sore throat?

Sore throats usually result from a sore throat. This is often accompanied by other unpleasant symptoms such as difficulty swallowing. The disease is triggered by viruses or bacteria that get into our airways. Together with a runny nose, fever, cough and body aches, sore throats often occur with colds and flu-like infections. Especially in the winter months, the cold, wet weather and the dry heating air encourage our mucous membranes to dry out and pathogens have an easy time of it. If the immune system is weakened anyway, a cough or sneeze from the other person is enough to get infected via droplet infection. Then quick and targeted help is required.

Easy to use, quick to take effect

Application recommendation
Adults and children aged 12 and over take 1 lozenge every 3 to 6 hours and let it dissolve slowly in the mouth. The maximum daily dose is 5 lozenges. Dobendan ^® Direkt Zuckerfrei lozenges should not be used for longer than 3 days without medical advice.


How do Dobendan ^® Direkt sugar-free lozenges work?
Dobendan ^®Direkt is a medicine for the symptomatic relief of sore throats. The lozenges contain a low dose (8.75 mg) of flurbiprofen; this is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits the production of the messenger substance prostaglandin. The lozenges work directly against the inflammation that underlies the sore throat. The sugar-free lozenges are suitable for use in all stages of a sore throat - from the first sore throat to a severe sore throat.

Which sugar substitutes does Dobendan ^® Direkt contain ?
The lozenges contain the sugar substitutes maltitol solution (E 965), isomalt (E 953) and the sweetener acesulfame potassium (E 950).
