Starazolin Free eye drops 10ml

Starazolin Free eye drops contain tetryzoline hydrochloride. It is an active substance that constricts the blood vessels of the eye. The drug is intended for use in the treatment of non-infectious eye irritation or redness.

Composition of Starazolin Free eye drops:

Active substance: tetryzoline hydrochloride (Tetryzolini hydrochloridum). 1 ml of eye drops contains 0.5 mg of tetryzoline hydrochloride and excipients: sodium chloride, boric acid, borax, purified water.

Action of Starazolin Free eye drops:

Sterile eye drops solution with tetrysoline hydrochloride. It is a medicine that belongs to a group of drugs which work to constrict the blood vessels of the eye. Starazolin Free is indicated for use in the case of mild non-infectious eye irritation or redness caused by smoke, wind, chlorinated water or light, and in the case of allergic eye inflammation. The drug applied topically to the conjunctiva leads to a narrowing of the capillaries (vasospasm) within a few minutes, which lasts for 4-8 hours. The preparation does not contain preservatives.

Application:
Starazolin Free eye drops are indicated for the treatment of mild non-infectious eye irritation or redness caused by smoke, wind, light, chlorinated water, and also for the treatment of allergic eye inflammation (e.g. allergy to pollen, hay fever).

Additional information:
Store the product out of reach of children at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against the effects of moisture and light. A doctor should be consulted in case of: dry rhinitis, keratoconjunctivitis; high pressure in the eye (glaucoma). You should see your doctor immediately if you have: severe eye pain, headache, loss of vision, "floating" spots in your vision, severe acute or one-sided redness of the eye, pain on exposure to light or double vision, or when irritation or redness of the eye is associated with a severe eye disease, e.g. infection, the presence of a foreign body or chemical damage to the cornea. In the case of prolonged or incorrect use of the drug (especially in higher doses than recommended), its effect may decrease, conjunctiva redness and persistent nasal congestion may occur. It is not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The drug may limit the ability to drive and use machines (pupil dilation, blinding by light or blurred vision may occur after application). Do not swallow. It is recommended to avoid long-term use of the drug, especially in children. Before each use of the drug on a child, consult a doctor. Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug and contact allergy to silver. Do not use in the case of narrow-angle glaucoma. Do not use in case of severe heart or blood vessel disease (e.g. coronary heart disease or arterial hypertension). Do not use in the case of a phaeochromocytoma. Do not use in case of metabolic disorders: hyperthyroidism, porphyria or diabetes. Do not use in people who are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), tricyclic antidepressants or other medications that may raise blood pressure. Do not use in the case of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Do not use in children under 2 years of age.

Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking the drug. Common: increased swelling of the eye mucosa (reactive hyperemia), burning or dryness of the eye mucosa, palpitations, headache, tremor, weakness, sweating, increased blood pressure, rapid heart rate. Rare: mydriasis. Very rare: keratinization (keratinization) of the conjunctival surface, leading to closure of the tear ducts and tearing due to disturbances in tear flow after prolonged use of this medicine. Not known: pinching in or around the eye, redness, swelling, pain, itching, blurred vision, conjunctival irritation.

Dosage of Starazolin Free eye drops:

Use as directed by your doctor or as indicated on the leaflet. Adults, adolescents over 12 years of age: unless your doctor tells you otherwise, apply one drop to each irritated eye, use 2-3 times a day. Children from 2 to 12 years of age: use only after consulting a doctor. A doctor should be consulted and treatment should be discontinued if after two days of using the drug there is no improvement, irritation and redness of the eye persist or worsen. Do not use for more than 3 days without medical consultation. In case of eye disease, do not wear contact lenses, if wearing lenses is allowed, remove them before applying the drug. Wait for at least 15 minutes before reinstalling. Application: wash your hands before applying the drug. Remove the protective cap from the bottle, turn the bottle upside down, press the pump, then the first drop will appear. Before applying the eye drop, discard at least the first 5 drops, and at least 2 drops before applying the next eye drop. If the drug has not been used for 15 days (or longer), discard 5 drops before applying the drug to the eye. To instill the drug, slightly tilt your head back and carefully pull down the lower eyelid. Holding the bottle upside down, press the pump, releasing a drop into the eye. Immediately after instillation, press a finger into the corner of the eye near the nose or close the eyelid for 1-2 minutes.

Do not touch the eye or other surfaces with the tip of the dispenser. Before applying the eye drop, discard at least the first 5 drops, and at least 2 drops before applying the next eye drop. If the drug has not been used for 15 days (or longer), discard 5 drops before applying the drug to the eye. To instill the drug, slightly tilt your head back and pull carefully the lower eyelid. Holding the bottle upside down, press the pump, releasing a drop into the eye. Immediately after instillation, press a finger into the corner of the eye near the nose or close the eyelid for 1-2 minutes. Do not touch the eye or other surfaces with the tip of the dispenser.
