  • Cold sore treatment. Axoviral in the form of a cream is a medicine used in the local treatment of lips and face cold sores. The medicinal product as an active substance contains aciclovir, which combats the Herpes simplex virus.

    • Cold sore treatment, Axoviral cream Composition:
    Active substance: acyclovir; 1g of cream contains 50mg of acyclovir. Other ingredients: cetostearyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfate, poloxamer 407, white petrolatum, purified water.

    Cold sore treatment, Axoviral cream Action:
    The active substance in Axoviral is acyclovir, which has antiviral activity, especially towards the herpes simplex virus. The medicinal product in the form of a cream is used for topical application directly to the skin lesion.

    Cold sore treatment, Axoviral cream Application:
    Axoviral cream 0.05 g / g indicated for the local treatment of recurrent herpes of lips and face recalled by herpes simplex virus.

    Additional information:
    Keep the product out of reach of children at room temperature. Exercise caution if you have a reduced immunity or you are taking medicines that may reduce your immunity.

    Contraindications:
    Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to aciclovir, valaciclovir or to any of the other components of the drug. Do not use on mucous membranes.

    Side effects:
    Like all Axoviral, 0.05 g / g cream may cause side effects. If they occur, stop using the medicine immediately and contact your doctor, especially if you have an allergic reaction with symptoms such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue or difficulty in breathing. Uncommon: mild dryness or desquamation of the skin, transient burning sensation, tingling or stinging (usually immediately after applying the cream), itching. Rarely occur: erythema, contact dermatitis. Very rarely: sudden hypersensitivity reactions, including severe, including angioneurotic edema and urticaria.

    Dosage:
    For external use only. Use the drug as prescribed by your doctor or in accordance with the leaflet. Before applying the cream and after it, wash your hands thoroughly. Apply the cream on a skin lesion 5 times a day, keeping about four hours of time. Keep the night break. It is best to start applying the cream immediately after the first symptoms (burning, itching, redness). Use at least 4 days, maximum 10 days. If symptoms worsen or do not disappear after 10 days, a doctor should be consulted.
