TUSSAL Composition:
The active substance is ambroxol hydrochloride. One tablet TUSSAL contains 30mg of ambroxol hydrochloride.

The other ingredients are:
lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, gelatinized starch, magnesium stearate.

TUSSAL Action:
Active metabolite of bromhexine with mucolytic and secretolytic activity. It stimulates the maturation and release of vesicular and bronchial surfactant, increases the production of serous bronchial secretion, reduces viscosity of mucus, increases the motility of respiratory epithelial cilia. This makes it easier to expel, accelerate bronchial clearance with secretions, reduce the intensity and frequency of cough reflex. After oral administration, it is rapidly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The action starts after about 30 minutes and lasts for several hours. It is excreted in the urine as metabolites.

Indications TUSSAL:
In the acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory system with abnormal secretion, excessive thickening and obstruction of the bronchial mucus (eg acute or chronic bronchitis or bronchitis, bronchial asthma, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, laryngitis, Throat and sinuses).

TUSSAL Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to ambroxol or other ingredients of the preparation.

Precautions TUSSAL:
Use caution in patients with gastric or duodenal ulcer, renal failure.

TUSSAL Pregnancy and lactation:
This medicine can only be used during pregnancy if it is a definite necessity.

Side effect TUSSAL:
The use of this medication in patients with bronchial asthma may initially aggravate cough and cause excessive coughing. Occasionally, cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions, facial edema, headache, urinary dysfunction, dry mouth and dry air, gastrointestinal dysrhythmia (indigestion, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation) may occur.

TUSSAL Interactions:
Co-administration of coughs may reduce the secretion of mucus by inhibiting cough reflex and cause secretion of secretions (no co-administration is recommended). Ambroxol given with some antibiotics (amoxicillin, erythromycin, ampicillin, Doxycycline and cefuroxime) increase their penetration into the lungs and enhance their effect. Ambroxol and theophylline mutually enhance one's action.

Dosage TUSSAL:
Oral. Adults and children over 12 years old. Usually 30 mg 3 times a day, for long-term therapy the dose should be reduced to 30 mg twice daily. Children 6-12 years: 15 mg (1/2 tablet) 3 times daily for long-term use - 15 mg twice daily. The preparation should be taken after meals and with a small amount of liquid, do not use immediately before bed. Elderly people may use the medicine according to general indications.
