ESCAPELE emergency contraceptive Application:

Escapele is an emergency contraceptive (contraceptive for use in an emergency) that is used after unprotected intercourse or when a contraceptive method is unsuccessful.

Escapelle prevents in 84% the occurrence of unwanted pregnancy, provided that the tablet is taken up to 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected intercourse. Escapele does not prevent pregnancy in all cases, but the pill is more effective the earlier it is taken after unprotected intercourse (it is better to take it within 12 hours than to delay it until the third day).

Escapelle acts as:

· Stops the release of an egg from the ovaries;

· Prevents the fertilization of already released eggs from the sperm;

· Prevents the fertilized egg from attaching to the uterine wall

Therefore, Escapele terminates the pregnancy before it occurs.

The tablet does not work if you are already pregnant.

ESCAPELE emergency contraceptive Composition:

Each tablet contains 1.50 mg of levonorgestrel, which is the active ingredient.

Escapelle also contains the excipients: colloidal anhydrous silica (1.00 mg), potato starch (1.00 rag), magnesium stearate (2.00 mg), talc (5.00 mg), corn starch (47.00 mg), lactose monohydrate (142.50 mg).

ESCAPELE emergency contraceptive Dosage:

Take the tablet as soon as possible, preferably up to 12 hours after unprotected intercourse, but no later than 72 hours (3 days) then swallow the tablet whole with a little water if necessary. Escapele is used only in emergencies and is not used as a regular method of contraception. If you take Escapele more than once between periods, it is very likely that you will have a menstrual irregularity.

Do not take Escapele:

• if you know you are allergic to any of the ingredients in this medicine!

If any of the following apply to you, you must tell your doctor before taking Escapele, as emergency contraception may not be suitable for you.

If:

· You are pregnant or suspect you may have recently become pregnant;

· Your period is delayed or the previous one was different from normal;

· You have had unprotected sex more than 72 hours ago and after your last regular period (pregnancy may have occurred and the pill will not work);

· You have a disease of the small intestine (eg Crohn's disease), which impairs digestion;

· You suffer from severe liver disease;

· You are taking any of the following medicines that prevent Escapele from working effectively:

- Barbiturates and other medicines used to treat epilepsy
(eg primidone, phenytoin and carbamazepine).

- Medicines to treat tuberculosis (eg rifampicin, rifabutin).

-Treatment of HIV infection (ritonavir).

-Medications for fungal infections (griseofulvin).

-Herbal products containing St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum)

· If you are taking a medicine called cyclosporine (used to boost the immune system)
If any of these apply to you, Escapele is not the right medicine for you or it is better to choose other types of emergency contraception.

What to keep in mind when applying Escapele?

Breast milk may contain very small amounts of the active ingredient of this medicine. This is not considered to be dangerous for the baby, but if you are worried, you can take the tablet immediately after breastfeeding. In this way, you take the tablet long enough before the next breastfeeding, thus reducing the amount of active ingredient that the baby can take with breast milk.

This medicine will not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases, it can only be done with a condom. Ask your pharmacist, doctor, nurse or family planning clinic if you are worried about this.

Side effects:

Like all medicines, Escapele can cause side effects • You may feel unwell shortly after taking the tablet.

• You may actually be unwell (vomiting) after taking the tablet.
If you feel unwell, read the section "What to do if you are in a bad mood (vomiting)."

• There may be a change in the type of menstruation. Most women have normal periods at the expected time, but some may have delayed or premature periods. Irregular bleeding or spotting may occur until the next regular period. In case your period is delayed by more than 5 days or is unusually sparse or abundant, consult your doctor as soon as possible.

• There may be chest tightness, headache, dull lower abdominal pain, diarrhea, feeling dizzy or tired after taking the tablet. These symptoms should disappear after a few days.
