The medicine is a laxative and liver therapeutic agent.
Field of use:
- For the symptomatic treatment of stool blockage (constipation), which cannot be influenced by slag-rich food and other measures.
- For the symptomatic treatment of hepatic encephalopathy.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
a) Constipation (stool constipation):
- The dosage should be adjusted individually so that a bowel movement occurs once a day.
  - Adults (including elderly patients): The starting dose is 20 g powder daily (2 sachets) taken as a single dose with meals in the morning or evening.
  - If you have a daily bowel movement, a sufficient laxative effect can be achieved individually by reducing the dose to 10 - 15 g of powder daily (1 - 1 ½ sachets).
  - Children: The average daily starting dose is 0.25 g/kg body weight, e.g. E.g.:
    - 10 - 20 kg

- The dosage should be adjusted individually by decreasing or increasing it so that loose stools occur twice a day. The recommended starting dose is 0.5 to 0.7 g/kg body weight daily. It should be taken in three doses, each with meals.
- The recommended starting dose per nasopharyngeal tube is 1 - 2 ml/kg body weight of a 40% solution daily, which should be prepared as described below. This corresponds to a daily intake of 0.4 to 0.8 g/kg body weight.

Treatment duration:
- If you do not have a bowel movement within a week of treatment with the medication, you should consult your doctor. Self-treatment should be interrupted after a treatment period of 4 weeks at the latest.

If you have taken more than you should
- Diarrhea is a sign of an overdose and requires a dose reduction or discontinuation of the preparation. Any associated serum electrolyte and water losses must be corrected.

If you forget to take it
- Next time, do not take twice as much, but continue using it.

If you stop taking it
- An interruption or early termination of therapy should only take place after consultation with the treating doctor.
