Valerian
If a body cell uses up energy while awake, the breakdown product adenosine is produced. This binds to specific receptors in the brain and plays a key role in building up the daily sleep pressure. During sleep, the adenosine is recycled and the cycle begins again the next day. Thanks to a special extraction process, the special extract contained in ALLUNA ^® Sleep is rich in so-called sleep lignans. These attach to the same receptors in the brain as the body's own adenosine and have a calming and sleep-promoting effect.

Hops
As the ambient light levels decrease, the release of the neurotransmitter melatonin is initiated in the brain. Melatonin can dock at certain binding sites in the brain and thereby causes a reduction in energy metabolism and body temperature. Components of the hop extract used in ALLUNA ^® Sleep have the property of binding to the melatonin receptors in the brain and thereby triggering a sleep-inducing effect.

Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the usual dose for adults and adolescents aged 12 and over is:

To treat sleep disorders, take 1-2 film-coated tablets ½ to 1 hour before going to bed. The film-coated tablet should be taken whole and with plenty of liquid.
