KETOTIFEN Stulln 0.25 mg/ml eye drops solution 10 ml

- Allergic conjunctivitis, seasonal, e.g. spring catarrh (vernal conjunctivitis) or hay fever

The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

How is it used?
Put the medicine in the conjunctival sac of the eye(s). Tilt your head back to use it. After using the drops, slowly close your eye and gently press your finger on the tear duct between the nose and inner eyelid.
Avoid touching the tip of the applicator with eyes/parts of the face or objects.

Duration of use?
There is no limit to the duration of use.

Overdose?
There are no known symptoms of overdose. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

Forgot to use?
Continue using the medicine as normal at the next prescribed time (i.e. do not use twice the amount).

The general rule is: pay careful attention to the dosage, especially for babies, small children and the elderly. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any effects or precautions.

How does the active ingredient in the medicine work?

If there is contact with allergy-causing substances, e.g. pollen, the body's own messenger substance histamine is released, which leads to allergic reactions. The active ingredient prevents the allergic reaction by suppressing the effect of histamine. It also prevents the renewed release of histamine. In this way, the active ingredient combats unpleasant allergic symptoms such as itching, redness or swelling.

- Children under 3 years: The medicine should not generally be used in this age group.

What about pregnancy and breast-feeding?

- Breast-feeding: According to current knowledge, there is no indication that the medicine should not be used during breast-feeding.

If you have been prescribed the medicine despite a contraindication, speak to your doctor or pharmacist. The therapeutic benefit may be greater than the risk of using it when there is a contraindication.
What side effects can occur?

Dry eyes - Blurred vision - Eyelid disorders - Increased sensitivity to light in the eye - Conjunctival bleeding - Corneal inflammation (punctate keratitis) - Corneal damage - Headaches - Drowsiness - Dry mouth - Skin rash - Eczema - Hives If you notice any discomfort or changes during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist. For the information here, we primarily consider side effects that occur in at least one in 1,000 treated patients.
What should you watch out for?
- Even when used as intended, your ability to react may be impaired, particularly in higher doses or in combination with alcohol. Be especially careful when driving or operating machines (including in the home) that could injure you.
- If you use several eye drops/eye ointments, you must wait a while between applications.
- There may be medicines with which interactions occur. You should therefore generally tell your doctor or pharmacist about any other medicine you are already taking before starting treatment with a new medicine. This also applies to medicines that you buy yourself, use only occasionally, or that you have used some time ago.
