Lutein and zeaxanthin have a dual protective function for the retina

Intake of Lutein and Zeaxanthin

The human body is designed to absorb both valuable protective substances - Lutein and Zeaxanthin through food. Unfortunately, people in Europe take very insufficient amounts of Lutein and Zeaxanthin through their regular diet.

Studies on the required dosages have shown that a person must take at least 10 mg of Lutein daily in order to maintain the levels of Lutein in the retina at the required levels. Action and dosage of OMEGA-3-FATTY ACIDS

More recent research shows something more - DHA and EPA can very often drastically reduce the risk of developing late forms of age-dependent macular degeneration if a person takes them regularly. This is especially important because it is in the late form of age-dependent macular degeneration that clear and irreversible vision loss occurs.

Today we know that the two Omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA are extremely important components for the proper functioning of visual receptors. Moreover, from now on there are clear indications that Omega-3 fatty acids inhibit the dangerous growth of new blood vessels in the retina and thus reduce the risk of developing so-called "wet" age-dependent macular degeneration. This type of macular degeneration leads to retinal hemorrhage, which leads to rapid and pronounced loss of vision in just a few days.

In Central Europe, the average daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids is 150-200 mg per day. Even recommended an average daily intake of about 500 mg per day, Lutamax Duo can cover the short-lived average daily need of about 330 mg.

Recommended Dosage of Lutamax Duo

Starting dose: During the first 3-6 months of therapy, the patient should take 2 capsules of Lutamax Duo 10 mg per day. Note: The duration and continuity of taking Lutamax Duo are important. If you stop taking lutein and omega-3 fatty acids, in just a few weeks there will be a clear decrease in the concentration of these substances in the retina.
