itching of the vagina , Burning and jarring in the genital area, often also associated with whitish-grainy discharge - these symptoms can indicate a fungal infection in the vaginal area. Although this condition affects many women, it is not popularly talked about.

Yeast in the genital area (in small amounts) is not a bad thing for women at first, they are part of the vaginal flora and are there in balance with other germs. However, if this natural balance is upset, some pathogens can multiply and cause unpleasant inflammation. In most cases these are yeasts of the genus Candida. In addition to the yeasts, bacteria can rarely accumulate and trigger an overlying infection, a so-called superinfection.

So that it doesn't get that far in the first place, women should

• refrain from excessive intimate hygiene,
• do not wear clothing that is too tight or impermeable to air (as the mushrooms feel particularly comfortable in a warm and humid environment),
• Reduce stress in everyday life and
• Keep the immune system fit through a healthy diet, adequate sleep and regular exercise.

By the way: In some cases it makes sense to also treat the sexual partner. The fungi do not multiply in men because the man's glans is better ventilated than the woman's vagina. However, men can transmit the yeast to women during unprotected sex.

With the Canesten ^® GYN 3-day vaginal tablets you can easily treat the unpleasant vaginal thrush yourself. The active ingredient clotrimazole reliably fights fungal pathogens and quickly relieves symptoms such as itching and increased discharge.





In the case of very pronounced symptoms in the external area, combination treatments - for example with the Canesten ^® GYN Once Combi or Canesten ^® GYN 3-Day Combi - are more suitable, as they contain an anti-fungal agent and a cream for use on the external vaginal area.

Note: Canesten ^® GYN Candida 3-day vaginal tablets are generally also suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women, but should only be used under medical supervision.

The treatment lasts - unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor - only three days. The application of the Canesten ^® GYN 3-day vaginal tablets is very easy:

• Insert the oblong vaginal tablet with the enclosed applicator as deeply as possible into the vagina - ideally right before going to bed. It can be helpful here if you lie relaxed on your back with your legs slightly drawn up. You can also find detailed instructions in the package insert.
• Repeat this procedure on the next two days.

Tip: To avoid contaminating your underwear, you can wear panty liners during the treatment. The use of Canesten ^® GYN 3-day vaginal tablets during menstruation is not recommended.

If you have a rather dry vagina, which is often the case especially after the menopause, you should rather use the Canesten ^®Use GYN Once 3-day vaginal cream [target link: product text "Canesten ^® GYN 3-day vaginal cream therapy"]. In this case, the tablets may not dissolve completely and solid bridges may be excreted.

During treatment, you should also be aware that the safety of latex products such as condoms or diaphragms may be temporarily impaired.

Please do not use the vaginal tablets if you are known to be hypersensitive to the active ingredient clotrimazole or to other ingredients that you can find in the package insert.

You should also contact a doctor if
• you have had a fungal infection more than four times in the last year or
• Symptoms such as abdominal pain, back pain, bad smelling vaginal discharge, nausea or vaginal bleeding - often in connection with shoulder pain or a very high fever (at least 38 degrees Celsius) - occur.

Normally, after starting treatment, there is a significant improvement in the unpleasant vaginal thrush symptoms within four days. If this is not the case, please also consult your doctor.

The Canesten ^®GYN 3-day therapy vaginal tablets rely on the tried and tested active ingredient clotrimazole. This inhibits both the growth and reproduction of fungal cells and some bacteria and thus effectively alleviates the symptoms. One tablet contains 200 milligrams of clotrimazole.

In addition, the special addition of lactic acid improves the solubility and increases the availability of the active ingredient.

As with all drugs, side effects and interactions with other drugs cannot be completely ruled out with Canesten ^® GYN 3-day therapy vaginal tablets.
