Melgisorb Ag
Antimicrobial alginate dressing for moderately to heavily exuding wounds

Melgisorb Ag is an antimicrobial alginate dressing - when you need antimicrobial effectiveness to reduce the bacterial load. According to an international consensus, antimicrobial effectiveness can reduce the bacterial load in infectious wounds. It also acts as an antimicrobial barrier in wounds that are at high risk of infection or new infection. As shown in in vitro tests, Melgisorb Ag can inactivate germs (bacteria and fungi) in the wound within four hours for up to 14 days.

Melgisorb Ag can absorb large amounts of exudate. The alginate fibers absorb large amounts of exudate and form a soft gel - which in turn provides a moist wound environment that supports the healing process.

Areas of application of Melgisorb Ag:
Melgisorb Ag is suitable for the treatment of all types of moderately to heavily exuding superficial and deep wounds, including chronic wounds such as leg ulcers, decubitus ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome, transplant and donor sites, wound cavities and superficial and second degree burns. Since Melgisorb Ag contains alginate, it can have a positive effect on controlling minor bleeding in superficial wounds. This product can also be used under compression bandages. Melgisorb Ag can be used under the supervision of a medical professional for infectious wounds or wounds with an increased risk of infection. Melgisorb Ag is intended for external use only.
