EZ Key Programming
The 1st application-based key programming tool uses the EZ Key mobile app to program nearly all vehicle models and key types including transponders, remotes, and fobs. With a guided, interactive, and low-cost setup the patent-pending Smart Link pairs with the app to complete the programming process without any prior training or technical skills.

After two years of development, followed by manufacturing and testing beta, EZ Key Programming is now available to the automotive industry. We were tired of buying expensive programming equipment, the endless training to learn new models, the high cost of buying tokens, and the constant online updates.

From locksmiths to auto dealerships, we wanted to make the process easy and affordable. We hired a team some of the best automotive engineers along with highly skilled developers to build a system that makes it possible to remotely program vehicle keys over the cloud. The cost is minimal, and charged on an individual basis for each programmed key.

The process is as simple as opening our Smartphone App, connecting the EZ Key Smart Link to the vehicle’s OBD port. We handle the rest, and send a notification when the key has been programmed. Most vehicle keys are programmed within 5 to 10 minutes, and many are finished even faster.

This tool uses a token based system based on 1 token per vehicle programmed. They are available in 10 / 25 / 50 packs or Unlimited use for 1 month or Unlimited use for 1 year. Choose your package below

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1 - Enable Hotspot and Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet.

Step 2 - Plug the EZ Key Smart Link into the vehicle’s OBD Port.

Step 3 - Once the blue light stops blinking, open up the EZ Key Mobile App. Choose your Wifi or Hotspot network and enter your password.

Step 4 - Within the App, a chat session will begin with one of our representatives and they will program your vehicle.

Where is this service available?
We are currently able to program vehicles in the United States and Canada from 8 AM to 5 PM Central Time.

Can you help me program my car?
We are currently only a business-to-business service, but we may be able to get you in contact with an EZ Key Agent in your Area.

I downloaded the app, where is my verification code?
You will need to have an EZ Key account created before EZ Key can send you a verification code to sign in to the app.

What cars can you program?
We have a list of vehicles that we can program under Vehicle List. We are always trying to improve and update that to better serve our customers.

How long does it take to program a car?
Some cars only take a minute or two, but some cars require a 10-minute security wait. So, it mainly depends on what year and model we are trying to do.

What does it cost?
After purchasing the EZ Key Smart Link tool, which plugs into the OBD port. You will have 2 free vehicle programs / tokens to program your first 2 vehicles. For further use you will need to purchase a subscription service before being able to program more vehicles.  Subscriptions can be selected above or purchased HERE

Getting Started

Recommended Before You Begin 

• Make sure you have all the necessary equipment ready to begin programming. Below is your checklist: 
• Mobile device with latest EZ Key App downloaded
• Access to Wifi and/or a Personal Hotspot IMPORTANT
• EZ Key Smart Link Dongle and cable ○A vehicle and a key to program
• Battery Charger or Jump Box  is recommended 

With An Android Phone 

• Put a charger or jump box on the vehicle's battery.
• Enable Bluetooth on your Android device.
• Depending on your source for data, enable Wifi or Hotspot.  
• Plug EZ Key smart dongle into the vehicle's OBD port. 
• If programming a key blade, insert and turn the ignition to On. 
• Wait for Blue light to stop heartbeat blinking (10-20 seconds). 
• Open up the EZ Key App
• Find your Hotspot or Wifi on the list of available networks.
• Type your password on the passphrase line and press Join.  
• If programming a proximity key, you will be asked to enter VIN. 
• Wait for Rep to accept session. 
• Follow programming instructions through the chat feature on the app.  

With An Apple iPhone

• Put the charger or jump box on the vehicle's battery.
• Enable Bluetooth on your Apple device.
• Plug EZ Key smart dongle into the vehicle's OBD port.
• If programming a key blade, insert and turn the ignition to On. 
• Wait for Blue light to stop heartbeat blinking (10-20 seconds).
• Turn on Hotspot in Phone Settings.
• Remove all special characters from Hotspot name (especially apostrophes) 
• Re-open EZ Key App.
• Choose your Hotspot or Wifi on the list of available networks. 
• Type in password on passphrase line and press Join. 
• Go back to phone’s Hotspot settings screen and wait until green light starts flashing on the Smart Link. (30-60 seconds) 
• Re-open EZ key App.
• If programming a proximity key, you will be asked to enter VIN.
• Wait for Rep to accept the session.
• Follow programming instructions through the chat feature on the app.  
  
  

Troubleshooting 

LED Status for Troubleshooting If you see all four of the lights going back and forth in sequence, that means your Smart Link is updating with our latest software fixes. It will take 5-10 minutes, depending on data speed.

If you come across any issues while using your EZ Key dongle, the key below will help you communicate and troubleshoot with your rep:
