LORANO Active substance: 1 tablet contains: 10 mg Loratadine.
What else does Lorano tablets contain: Lactose, magnesium stearate, corn starch, silica.

What are Lorano tablets:

Lorano belongs to the group of antiallergic products and works by blocking histamine receptors and by suppressing substances that cause inflammation.

LORANO Loratadine Application:

The product is used for short-term symptomatic treatment of:
- allergic rhinitis with symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal irritation, itching and burning of the eyes
- chronic urticaria (hives) with symptomatic skin itching, redness and blisters
- atopic eczema (neurodermatitis) with itching and redness of the skin

When you should not take Lorano tablets:

Lorano should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the product and in children under 6 years of age. Due to the lactose content this product is not suitable for patients suffering from a rare inherited disease - galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactose deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. In which cases can you use Lorano tablets only after consulting a doctor? product should only be used with extreme caution. Please consult your doctor. This also applies to recent illnesses. The product should be used very carefully in children with severe renal and hepatic impairment. Dose reduction is required, especially in patients with severe hepatic impairment.

What other products affect the effect of Lorano tablets or may be affected by the preparation:

Ketoconazole, erythromycin or cimetidine No clinical clinical effects on the patient were observed in clinical trials in volunteers when co-administered loratadine with ketoconazole, erythromycin or cimetidine. This is especially true for the ECG. There are no data available for other drugs that suppress metabolic processes in the liver. For this reason, such medicinal products should be used with caution with Lorano. Please note that these data may also apply to recently adopted products.

What foods and spices to avoid: Food: If Lorano is taken with food, the passage of the active ingredient into the blood may be delayed, but this does not affect the effectiveness.

Use in children: No data are available on the tolerability and efficacy of Lorano in children under 6 years of age. Therefore, treatment with Lorano is not recommended in this age group.
Use in the elderly and in patients with hepatic / renal impairment: In the elderly and in patients with hepatic / renal impairment, CNS adverse reactions (eg drowsiness) may occur.
What special precautions should be taken during pregnancy and lactation:Lorano should be taken during pregnancy only on the advice of a doctor, as there is insufficient experience with pregnant women. Animal experiments have not shown any damage. Loratadine passes into breast milk. The amount of active ingredient that reaches the child is not expected to cause any harm.
What to consider when driving or operating machinery or in an unsafe position (eg climbing stairs):The effects of loratadine on the ability to drive - reaction time, visual acuity, attention and driving behavior are comparable to those of placebo. Sensitive persons in whom the medicinal product may cause unusual reactions should first check how they react to the product before driving, before operating machinery or before performing other activities requiring concentration.

Dosage, method and duration of administration:

If there is no other prescription for Lorano from your doctor, the following dosage is recommended. Please follow the instructions for use, as otherwise Lorano will not work properly. In severe liver disease, it is recommended to start treatment with Ut. Lorano tablet per day (corresponding to 5 mg loratadine) or 1 Lorano tablet every two days (corresponding to 10 mg loratadine). This dose can then be increased gradually.
When and how you can take Lorano tablets: The tablets should be taken without chewing any liquid.
How long you can take the tablets: Your doctor will determine the duration of administration. It depends on the course of the clinical picture and should not exceed 6 months. For urticaria data are available only up to 4 weeks. The duration of use in children between 6 and 12 years is 2 weeks.
What to do if Lorano tablets have been taken in very large amounts (intentional or unintentional overdose): To date, no serious problems have been known as a result of an unintentional overdose. If you have inadvertently taken many Lorano tablets, please inform your doctor immediately.
Symptoms: Insomnia, rapid heartbeat and headache have been observed with overdose. A single dose of 160 mg did not cause significant adverse reactions.
Therapy:If necessary, the intoxication should be treated according to the symptoms: vomiting should be induced, even if there has been previous spontaneous vomiting. A good result can be achieved with ipecac syrup. In unconscious patients, vomiting should not be induced. Precautions should be taken against aspiration, especially in children. After vomiting, the drug remaining in the stomach can be absorbed by administering activated charcoal dissolved in water. If vomiting is ineffective or contraindicated, gastric lavage should be performed using saline, especially in children. In adults, tap water can also be used. It is necessary to separate as much as possible before the next infusion. Salt laxatives slow the intestinal absorption of water by osmosis and are therefore suitable for the rapid dilution of intestinal contents. Loratadine cannot be removed from the blood by hemodialysis. It is not known to what extent it can be eliminated by peritoneal dialysis. After treatment in the emergency department, the patient must remain under observation for some time.
What to do if you take less than the prescribed dose of Lorano tablets or you miss a dose: The next time you take it, you should not double the dose, but continue the treatment as prescribed. What you need to know if you stop treatment or have you stopped it prematurely? Please consult your doctor.
What side effects can Lorano tablets cause:Rarely, dry mouth may occur. The following side effects have been reported rarely: headache, fatigue, insomnia, gastrointestinal upset (nausea and gastritis), and allergic reactions such as redness with a burning sensation. In some cases, reported hair loss, liver dysfunction, allergic skin reactions (exanthema, pruritus), as well as severe allergic reactions and cardiac arrhythmia. As a rule, an increase in appetite is not observed more often than with placebo.
