CAFFETIN COLD 10 tablets, CAFFETIN COLD

Cafetin Cold is a combined medicinal product containing several active ingredients paracetamol, pseudoephedrine, dextromethorphan and vitamin C.

Paracetamol is a painkiller and antipyretic.
Pseudoephedrine reduces swelling of the nasal mucosa and thus makes the nose and airways passable.
Dextromethorphan suppresses cough by reducing irritation in the throat and bronchi.
Vitamin C strengthens the immune system.

Caffetine Cold relieves the symptoms of the common cold and flu (headache, muscle aches, sore throat, stuffy nose, fever and cough). Do not take Cafetin Cold:

• If you are allergic to Caffetine Cold or any of the other ingredients of Caffetine Cold;
• if you have severe coronary heart disease or high blood pressure;
• if you suffer from severe kidney or liver failure;
• if you are taking tricyclic antidepressants (for depression) or have taken them in the last 14 days.

This medicine is not intended for use in children under 12 years of age.

Take special care with Caffetine Cold

· If you have mild to moderate hypertension (high blood pressure), heart disease, diabetes, liver or kidney disease, hyperthyroidism (hyperthyroidism), increased intraocular pressure or an enlarged prostate. Ask your pharmacist or doctor if you can take Cafetin Cold;

· If you are over 60 or your body is exhausted, you are more likely to experience some of the side effects of the medicine.

Do not take this medicine before talking to your doctor or pharmacist if you drink more than three alcoholic drinks a day or if you have liver damage from drinking alcohol.

Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Concomitant use of Caffetine Cold with some drugs may lead to interactions. This can happen when you take:

· Other medicines containing paracetamol;

· Warfarin and other coumarins (to thin the blood);

· Medicines to treat depression (mao-inhibitors);

· Medicines to treat mental illness (haloperidol);

· Anticonvulsants (for epilepsy), such as phenytoin, phenobarbital;

· Cholestyramine (to reduce blood lipids);

Chloramphenicol (for treatment for infections);

· Medicines to treat high blood pressure, heart or circulatory problems (beta-blockers and other antihypertensive medicines).

Taking Caffetine Cold with food and drink
Caffeine Cold tablets can be taken with or without food.
Avoid alcohol. This medicine, taken with alcohol, can cause liver damage.
Avoid taking foods with caffeine at the same time, as they can cause irritability and palpitations.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine. Your pharmacist or doctor will explain the potential benefits and risks of taking Cafetin Cold during pregnancy or breast-feeding.

Driving and using machines
Be careful if you drive or use machines until you know the effect of the medicine on you. Caffetine Cold can cause dizziness in some people.

Dosage:

Always take Caffetine Cold as instructed in the package leaflet. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Adults and children over 12 years of age The
recommended dose is one tablet up to four times a day. Two tablets can be taken at once. The interval between doses should be no less than four hours.
The maximum single dose is two tablets and the maximum daily dose is two tablets up to four times over a period of 24 hours (8 tablets in 24 hours).
It is not recommended to use Cafetin Cold for more than 5 days without consulting a doctor.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Cafetin Cold can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The following side effects may occur rarely: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, drowsiness, restlessness, irritability, dizziness, sleep disturbances, high blood pressure and palpitations, dry mouth, headache; extremely rare: elevated liver enzymes, pancreatitis, changes in blood count.
All medicines can cause allergic reactions. Serious allergic reactions are very rare and very rarely life-threatening. Any sudden wheezing, difficulty breathing, swelling of the eyelids, face or lips, rash or itching (especially affecting the whole body) should make you consult a doctor immediately.

If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition:

The active substances are: paracetamol, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, dextromethorphan hydrobromide and ascorbic acid (vitamin C).
Each film-coated tablet contains the active substances: 500 mg paracetamol, 30 mg pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, 15 mg dextromethorphan hydrobromide and 60 mg ascorbic acid.

Starch, pregelatinised; Cellulose, microcrystalline; Povidone; Croscarmellose sodium; Silica, colloidal anhydrous; Talc; Magnesium stearate.
