Already converted form of the essential amino acid L-tryptophan

5-HTP is the abbreviation for 5-hydroxytryptophan. The amino acid L-tryptophan is converted into 5-HTP in the body and from there into serotonin and melatonin. 5-HTP is therefore the basic substance of both substances, thus a more direct route than L-tryptophan. 5-HTP is well absorbed, even when taken with meals, and easily passes the blood-brain barrier. 5-HTP does not suffer from competition with other amino acids. It does not require a (common) transport molecule like other amino acids (including L-tryptophan).

5-HTP is extracted from the seeds of the African black bean (Griffonia simplicifolia).

Recommended dosage:
1 to 2 capsules per day with food or before going to bed. Take with plenty of water.

Ingredients:
Griffonia simplicifolia extract (naturally contains 5-HTP), rice concentrate (Oryza sativa), vegetarian capsule (pullulan, from fermented cassava starch), rice extract (Oryza sativa).

Caution: 
5-HTP should not be taken together with antidepressants or other psychotropic drugs. This product is not suitable for children under 18 years of age and during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The recommended daily intake should not be exceeded. A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Store in a dry place, tightly closed, at room temperature and out of reach of children.
