What is special about Dermaveel ^® ?
Dermaveel® ^_is characterized by a special composition. It contains 5.5% ectoine. Ectoin is a natural cell protection molecule that stores water in the skin, supplies dry skin with the necessary moisture and thus relieves itching. Ectoin binds almost twice as much water as urea. ²

Dermaveel ^® can be applied to the affected skin and gently massaged in twice a day and as often as needed.

Tips – For your everyday life
• Keeping a diary can be helpful in finding out the trigger factors for skin reactions.
• Avoid showering or bathing too often. Use mild, moisturizing cleaning agents or syndets with a neutral to slightly acidic pH value.
• It is best to wash your hair upside down at the sink or in the bathtub. So the rest of the body does not come into contact with shampoo.
• Make sure your fingernails are short. At night, cotton scratch gloves or neurodermatitis overalls (only for children) protect against scratch damage.
• Sweating promotes itching: avoid overheating and heat build-up.
• When choosing your holiday destinations, you prefer stays by the sea or in the mountains.
• Choose soft, airy clothing. Cotton, linen and silk are pleasant on the skin. Acrylic, nylon, perlon, polyester and wool are rather unsuitable. You should wash new clothes several times before wearing them and rinse them well. Remove inside labels.

How is ectoine different from urea?
Ectoin has a water binding capacity that is almost twice as high as that of urea. An ectoine molecule binds about seven water molecules, whereas a urea molecule can only bind about four water molecules. ²

Yes, Dermaveel is suitable for children. In a non-interventional study, Dermaveel was used in children from the age of one month because it is very well tolerated. ¹
