The messenger substance serotonin, among other things, plays an important role in a migraine attack. Serotonin is an endogenous messenger substance that regulates, for example, the narrowing and expansion of blood vessels. During a migraine attack, there is an imbalance in the serotonin balance, which causes the meninges to widen. As a result, they can become permeable to tissue-hostile substances and small inflammations can develop. At the same time, nerve cells in the brain are strongly activated and deactivated again, which can lead to a disruption of the electrolyte concentration. Overall, this creates the migraine headache.

How is Dolortriptan ^® used?
Dolortiptan ^® should only be used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks in adults between 18 and 65 years of age. Take the medication as early as possible at the first signs of a migraine attack.

One tablet of Dolortriptan ^® should be taken for each migraine attack, preferably with a glass of water. If a new migraine attack occurs within the next 24 hours, a second tablet can be taken if the first tablet has given relief. If the symptoms do not improve after taking the first tablet, no further tablets should be taken.
