What is Stannum metallicum 5% and what is it used for?
Stannum metallicum 5% is an anthroposophical medicine for inflammatory and degenerative diseases.

According to the anthroposophical understanding of man and nature, the areas of application include the stimulation of rhythmic balancing processes in inflammatory dissolving and degenerative hardening diseases, especially to prevent chronic secretions, e.g. in the case of effusions in body cavities and joints; liver diseases with a hardening tendency; additional treatment in the case of depressive moods, especially with mental rigidity.

How should Stannum metallicum 5% be used?
Always use Stannum metallicum 5% exactly as your doctor has told you.

Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose for adults is:

In case of joint effusion (swollen joint): apply a 2 – 3 cm long strip of ointment to the affected joint 1 – 2 times a day, apply an ointment pad overnight;

In case of pleural effusion: apply an ointment pad over the affected area 1 – 2 times daily;

For liver treatment and as an additional treatment for depressive moods: apply as an ointment patch over the liver area at night. To use as an ointment patch, a piece of linen or cotton fabric is thinly coated with the ointment, placed on the relevant part of the body with the ointment side facing up
and secured. The ointment patch can be used several times. After using it 3-4 times, a little more ointment should be applied.

The dosage for children aged 12 years and over is determined by the attending physician.

The duration of use depends on the course of the disease. In the case of known chronic diseases, a break should be taken after 4 - 6 weeks of use.

Composition:
10 g contain: Active ingredient: Stannum metallicum 0.5 g.

Ointment base: Thick paraffin, Protegin® WX (yellow petrolatum, ceresin, hydrogenated castor oil, glycerol monoisostearate, polyglycerol-3-oleate), yellow petrolatum, purified water.
